Magnepan MMG - - - What's better for $600.00

Hi guys just about five years ago on Canuck Audio Mart audio forum i asked this question, name me just one pair of speakers that are a better bang for the buck than the $600.00 Magnepan's MMG speakers well i'm glad to report that five years later NOBODY as come up with an answer yet and please don't forget to include the price of the stands that is part of the speaker right.

Yes that's in two weeks not bad, i will be spending more time here.

It's nice to see Magnepan has been able to churn out great speakers, being made in my home town is a cool thing! After many years of using and trying other speakers I finally bought a pair. I was going to go for the MMG but opted for the 1.7s. which I love equally as well as my Dynaudio C2 which are 6 times more expensive. That is a huge statement for Magnepan and it's nice to see them still being made in the USA. Dynaudio just sold out to the Chinese.. What really gets my goat is when manufactures have things built in China, which in some cases isn't a bad thing but then they charge more or the same amount of money just to make huge profits. It's nice to see Magnepan hasn't gone this route yet.

How about a second hand pair of Acoustats? Soundhounds was selling a used pair awhile back for $600. Probably sound better than the 20.1 they were selling for well over $10k.
