Ready for a change.
Amp, pre recommendations to drive Magico S5's?
Primary source Aurender HD/streamer. Also AVR pre-out input to amp for HT.
Comfortable spending $15-20k. Not necessarily afraid of used.

I'm extremely happy with my new Boulder 1161. Believe this amp - or it's bigger brothers - paired with the Aurender and Magico is a fairly popular combination. Pre + amp probably put it above your budget, but perhaps not by a ton, especially if you can get lucky to find at least one used. Or the 866 integrated is also really, really good.

Have owned or demo'd amps from Ayre, Aavik, T+A, Enleum, Hegel, Luxman, and the 1161 was head and shoulders above, as far as my tastes go.

If you're near Florida, or want a reason to go there, Mike at Suncoast could easily demo the 1161 with Magico.

I can vouch for Luxman pre and amplification (Series 900) or the newer M10X, Boulder, and Constellation are also considered very good alternatives.

Thx for the reply.
Simplicity is valued, and being able to personally lug it up/down stairs!
So, can't do mono blocks; 350.8 maybe?
Integrated is acceptable if it meets performance desires.

last weekend I heard Spectral amps with a Magico M5, sounded really good. Symphonic Line Kraft 300 stereo might also work.

The Gryphon Diablo 300 is attractive to me in several respects.
Is it a good partner with the Magico S5?

the diablo 300 will sound great with any neutral speaker imo, so yes, if the amp is neutral and dynamic it will sound great with any speaker that has the same traits

For what it’s worth, I have paired Diablo 300 with S3 for 6 years. Awesome combo.
