Magico S3 Mk2

Well let me tell you of this recurrent nightmare I have...........involves being tied up to an M3 with Siltech Triple Crown cables and a 2 meter Shunyata Sigma Power cord............well that's all I'm gonna say...:exciting:

Slightly off-topic, but my friend recently traded up his Siltech triple crown sc's for Jorma Statement sc's and is much happier. He found the statements sounded smoother, better balanced & more coherent top to bottom. Then again, he owns Marten Coltrane 3's which are internally wired with Jorma cable.

I plan to place an order with my Magico Rep as soon as we get pricing details. I like my M-Cast Bronze S1's, but I'm leaning toward M-Coat Titanium (unless the premium is stupid). If I had the cajones, I'd go with my favorite color, orange (although I'd have to add the cost of a divorce lawyer to the M-Coat premium).

Congrats! Mark will be happy!!

Sonics are better without one. [emoji846]

Life with the wife, better with one!

Now if you had the "cojones" (the testosterone producing kind), versus the "cajones" (the kind where you'd put your pink socks and underwear), you'd represent yourself in divorce court ;)

Seems like tweeter is the same as S5 mk2 but midrange and bass drivers are different. Also, 2 bass drivers are now 9" as opposed to 8" in mk1. 20 more lb heavier per speakers too.
The tweeter's part number (MBD7) is the same except for the 'X1' extension. The press release states "A new aluminum housing for the magnet structure minimizes overall resonance and improved the isolation parameters for the tweeter dome", suggesting the tweeter has been updated, however that is unclear.

The S3 Mk2's midrange is an all new driver, whilst the S5 Mk2's midrange (part no: MAG6004RTC) is the same as the M3. The major difference appears to be the S3 Mk2's 9" bass units which are derived from the M Pro vs the S5 Mk2's 10" Alu/graphene bass units which are the combination of brute force & speed.

This is quite surprising. It appears that regarding the S5 MK2's bass drivers they kind of went just half the distance, due to keeping the alu woofers the current S3 already has (sans graphene dust caps of course), while the S3 Mk2 goes full M Pro.

I think it's pretty obvious the S3 has once again leapt ahead of the S5. The only thing the S5 has over the S3 is volume, X1 or X2.

It also has much more substantial enclosure, which is much thicker.
