I have Pass Labs Xa 100.8 driving Sasha 1.
i would like a little more flesh for guitar strings having heard the YG Kipod 3.
YG is out of my price range hence i am considering one of the following:

Magico S3 mk 2 or S1 Mk2
Wilson Audio Sasha 2
Focal Sopra 2

The closest to the YG sound out of those is the Magico. The other two won't be anywhere near them.
You might want to look up a used pair of YG Carmel (not Carmel 2)!

I can get the Carmel used but not sure it is good enough as its drivers are unlike the Kipod 3.

There is no S3 Mk 2, just S1MkII and S5MkII.

The Sasha II to me is leaps ahead of the Sasha I

Since you like the Sasha I, it would seem that you would LOVE the Sasha II

These speakers are not at the same level, not price-wise nor soundwise.

While the Focal is still clearly a Hi-Fi component, the Wilson and Magico are in a different class. And then again, if you like a slightly colored sound the Wilson is the right choice, while the Magicos play more authentic.

I went from Sasha 1 to Magico S5 mk 1 and got just that.

I belive the S3 mk 2 when ready will be a killer.

The current S3 is already a killer!

Having said that I have always liked the Sasha 2's, a better choice in a big room when you like to Rock and roll loudly.

Are the S3's a better speaker, based on what I value yes. But the Wilson's have their place, just not my listening room.

Do keep in mind I am biased, I sell Magico.

Focal has really upped their game with the Sopra's. I have heard them sounding wonderful, and a great value being considerably less than the other two. But the S3's are simply better, a special speaker, my clear fav between these three.

Jock - You're not alone with your preference, I know of a few Magico dealers that preferred the S3 to the S5. Now the S7 is really supposed to be special, as should the newly updated version of the S3 when it becomes available. The madness never ends!

Im really looking forward to their MkII version of the the S3. The original S3 is what has caused all of the version IIs of the rest of the line. (again my opinion only)

It seems that as time goes on, Magico is really understanding that "specs" are not music, only a tool to get to the end result. And they are proving all the time that they have the tools.

I think Mark put it a nice way, it is difficult to talk about absolutes here. It comes down to preferences, associated electronics and room acoustics/ proportions.

We're anyhow talking here about complaining on a high-end level :).
