There rarely is a way to please everyone, but I guess it is easy to agree that it is better to pay 45K for an upgrade than to sell off the old version at a 40-50% loss after four years. And then yet to pay for shipping and taxes for the new version.
But it is another question how quick the upgrade cycle for a +200K investment should be for not to frustrate customers.
