I have always had a problem with floor resonance in my listening room as it is above a garage with no bracing supports underneath. With my past speakers use of a Townshend Seismic Podium has always been helpful. I'm considering purchasing a pair of S5 Mk2s and I know that Magico suggests not using products such as stillpoints. Does anyone have any experience with use of Townsend isolation under their Magicos or have a suspended floor in their listening room.

Yes, I know these are going to be a b*tch to move up a flight stairs ;)

My situation at home is the same as yours. I've had good luck with granite slabs under the speakers, Stillpoints and just using spikes. With my S5's (mk1's), I used the spikes and had no issues.

I asked Magico if they had any plans to develop 'SPods'...basically MPods optimized for the S Mk2 models & got this hopeful reply. So in the future atleast, Magico may offer an alternative to Stillpoints for the S5 Mk2 :audiophile:.

In regards to an improved footer for your S5 Mk II's we are constantly researching ways for enhanced product performance. In the meantime we strongly recommend that you continue to use the spiked footers that are supplied with your S5 Mk II's and stay in contact with your Dealer for updates on this specific topic.
