A friend of mine attended the worldwide debut of the new Magico M3's.

He does make a gorgeous speaker. I'm sure they sound equally great. What were his impressions?

I think he's still asleep! I got pictures of him at the bar later, so it might be MUCH later before I hear from him.
 
They are very compact. Since they each weigh 320 lbs there must be a lot of metal inside. I'm in the gym lifting weights twice a week so I'll be able to waltz them around my room without getting a hernia.

Mike, can you ask what he perceived the distance to be between the speakers and the front wall? (just curious and can't tell from the pics).

Looks like around 10' from center to center and less than 4' to the back wall using my calibrated eyeballs. Be interesting to see the actual measurements.
 
He guessed 11 X 14, less than 3 feet from front wall. Room was more square than rectangular.

His comments:

- a lot better than the Q3's (a speaker he knows VERY well)
- fantastic bass
- very organic sounding
- excellent world class speaker and major step up from Q.
- tweeter and midrange are like the Q3, but better
- tweeter is faster than diamond
- remarkably fast, yet organic
