Greetings,

I have been away from high end audio and home theater for quite awhile. I originally started out with Carl's Alon V Mark II speakers and Black Orpheous tri-wired speaker cables. VTL 250 Signature Triode Vaccum tube amplifiers and their PR-1 Preamp made up my front end. I still have the Alon's and speaker cables sitting in closet but everything else has found other homes. My disconnection with all of this came to light when I purchased a Samsung 55 inch curved SUHD TV last week only to find out my Denon AVR-2500 would not support the new technologies. God did I start feeling my age with all of this!

My plan is to develop specifications for a kick ass audio and home theater set up and I figured this would be a good place to start that journey. Good to meet all of you and look forward to picking your brains and being part of good constructive discussions.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Jack - haven't been in touch with "Granite" audio in a long time! How do you like their offerings?
Mike - love what your doing in your room!
Dan - you seem to be a McIntosh man.

Mack.......Yes, I have been McIntosh fan for 48 years. My first McIntosh gear was a pair of MC30 mono amps I purchased in 1968. Through all these years there has been McIntosh equipment in one or more sound systems in my home. Right now I have four systems powered by McIntosh, three two-channel systems and a home theater system.

I've had the Granite monos for over 12 years. They are used mostly in the Winter months. I bought them from the original owner who got in over his head with his first tube gear and unloaded them on the cheap. I still correspond with Don a couple of times a year. With the right input and driver tubes they are very good.

Bruce - Thanks for saying hi! How are you enjoying that Lampi B7? I have been away from audio for so long and have so much to catch up on.

The Lampi B7 is the best DAC I have ever owned and probably the best I have ever heard. It is just amazing.
