Luxman L-595A Special Edition finally arrives !!!

Man I love the aesthetics of that unit. The push buttons bring back memories of old Plymouth cars, and old car radios. No doubt it sounds just a wee-bit better :P

Congratulations Joe and Paul!

The L-595A looks fantastic and I'm sure sounds just as good.
It looks gorgeous - straight from the golden age of Japanese audio.

Regards

Thank you so much Nikhil.

I’m so happy right and that any plans for future gear is out the window. It’s more than powerful enough and just sounds awesome.

Joe, what speakers are you using your new amp with while you’re waiting for the Accordo’s?

I’ve been using the Vienna Acoustics and Wharfedale.

My Francos did arrive, now I need to manhandle them into position.

LoL, so true.

I’m going to milk this slowly and really enjoy the ride. :)

Hahaha ,

Your almost at the end of the internet with possible combos now joe .... :)

Enjoy .....!!

Regards

Paul - how would you compare it to the L-590AX II?

I will do the comparison next few days :)

I asked Luxman the difference between 590 and 595.

Here is their response:

What we understand is that there are over 120 parts detail differences between the L-590aXII and L-595ASE;

* Different main power transformer, with special attention paid to noise entering the circuits. And with special vibration control of the transformer itself.
* New, special power supply capacitors. Also installed with special vibration control mounting.
* Anti-resonance chassis design elements implemented in the extreme.
* Peel coat PCB’s implemented where it can make a difference.
* Special copper clad critical signal path shielding.
* Special “Line-1 gold direct onto copper (KAPPA) alloy” RCA style input jacks. (For best sound quality)
* Special selected Nichicon and Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors used throughout.
* First introduction of Luxman’s proprietary “ODNF-u” (Only Distortion Negative Feedback – Ultimate) in an integrated amplifier application. (An advancement over ODNF 4.0)
* Special, very low -impedance speaker relays. (Higher damping factor= 370)

I wonder what contributes to the increase in distortion and 2db reduction in S/N on the line inputs compared to the 590AXII.

The look of the US version of the 595 without the wood enclosure is really growing on me. The industrial look is striking in the video you posted.

Mine arrived yesterday. I will be setting it up tonight. At some point, I will bring my office L-590 AX ii home for a shoot-out!
