Just curious how they compare? I would think they'd be pretty similar. Thinking about one of these amps for my other listening room (someday). My primary listening room system is all set...Gryphon Diablo 300, Lumin T2, Roon Nucleus, and Harbeth Super HL 5+ 40th Anniversary Model speakers.

That's interesting, Joe. I might be in the market to equip a secondary listening room in a couple years. I'll be looking for something that sounds different from the system in my primary listening room (Gryphon D300 and Harbeth speakers). Perhaps something tube driven like a VAC 170i? Or, perhaps something class A-ish, like a Pass int 60 or Luxman 590axii? Not sure about secondary room speakers yet. Maybe Fynes? I'm not nearly as familiar with speakers as I am amps. So, that might take some research. Fun to think about anyway.

I just thought I’d throw that out there. Heck, the amp purchased built and tested is maybe $600 and sounds like it cost a ton more. I know being on a budget, every little bit helps.

Joe, I appreciate the heads up on the amp. I try to keep an open mind regarding components.

Right now, my wife might shoot me if I spend any more money on home audio stuff. Especially considering I will have dropped around $35,000 on components by the first of the year...my original budget plus another $10,000. She's been pretty supportive of my home audio purchases so far. But I need to put the brakes on for awhile.

Maybe in a couple years I can think about putting together a system for our upstairs secondary listening room. Something a little less expensive than the current system.

Don't hesitate to recommend more "good buys", Joe. I've been focusing so much on the more pricey stuff that I'm not very familiar with "medium fi" and less expensive gear. I know there are many components that punch way above their weight.

Hi Tom,
Just wondering what your plan for power foundation for your main system? As much as I believe you’ve got top notch components, they will have a difficult time to shine without decent power foundation.

The new iFi Powerstation would be a reasonably priced starting point or for more the Keces BP-2400 and Mike should have access to both.

Being a recent returnee to high end home audio (after a 45 year absence) I know very little to nothing about power foundations. I was just going to plug everything into the wall socket.

No need to go overboard, but I don't think just plugging it into the wall is the answer. How many total components will you end up with in your new system that need power, three?

Agree that you don’t need to go overboard but you do need a decent power conditioner. With V2 recently released, Shunyata Denali 6000S V1 can be had for around $2G. There’re a few units on Audiogon.

Or talk to Santa Mike with a budget and he’ll hook you up. :D

My advice is get everything you want, "then", worry about isolation, power & cables. Do not go there yet..... you can't hear it to evaluate it until you have your system in your own home.

I suggest that if you're not living in a rented space, a dedicated line (or two) with a whole home surge protector should be your first priority. Usually a several hundred dollar investment - a significant upgrade in SQ and protection for your gear. You can do the power conditioner/distributor later.

I have a Furman power conditioner that I used with my guitar amp. Would that do the trick and help the SQ?

Also, I have a wireless router (Net Gear). Any implications there?

OK, it's been too quiet around this sub forum. Now I know someone out there has heard both these amps. So, out with it! Tell us how they compare.:D
