Luxman 590AX Mark II - Such a home run!

Congratulations Joe..!!!

I´m a McIntosh boy but really love Luxman gear.

They look really nice and I have a friend with Luxman Integrated and the sound so good.

Enjoy..!!!

Greetings from Buenos Aires.

Thank you very much.

I’ve been through a lot of gear and am starting to think about consolidating. This Luxman checked all the boxes. I’m happy and actually very relieved how well it’s working out.

Avantgarde speakers, especially, thrive on tubes. Finding a great solid state amp that sounds great can be tricky. I’m happy to say that I’ve several that are awesome on my Duos. The 590AX mk II sits high on the list alongside the SIT3 - which another gem but needs more careful speaker matching. The 590 has the power to drive many more conventional speakers. Can’t beat that!

I have played a bit with the TCs and Loudness but always find myself back on Line Straight. The flexibility is good for resale tho.

Since most of my listening is either late night or low to mid level volume, the loudness button is one I enjoy on occasion. Having the ability to cut treble for crappy recordings is awesome too. Luxman for the win!

Now I might have to revisit the C900/M900 combo. I had the preamp and loved it. Should have added the amp and settled down. :)

Maybe we do get a little smarter as we get older.

Joe - Hope the break-in is progressing well. What is the purpose of the “Subsonic” button on the remote? Have you tried it and does it make a difference?

Break in is going well. I don’t obsess over sound on new gear. I take it for what it is. Even if this is it, I’d be happy but knowing I have higher levels of aural ecstasy ahead is exciting. :)

I think that’s only for vinyl, cutting out the rumble from turntables should there be a need for it.

Luxman offers a lot of features. It’s nice to see.

Thanks Joe. I haven't owned a vinyl system since the late 70's so I'm not familiar with the problems associated with turntables. Seems like a nice feature for those who would use it.

Congrats Joe! I’m a Luxman fanboy[emoji12] very musical.....

Now I really understand. First time having Luxman solid state amp in house. Super happy. Super musical and I still have more break in to go. Oh boy!

Sean and Chris,

Thank you very much.

It’s great to find a piece that really lets the music flow.

Thank you Jim.

What Conrad Johnson do you have? Curious?

Congrats Joe! IMO, the L-590AXII is the best integrated value on the planet. I have owned the L-590AX and the L-590AXII. Don't worry about the E-800. I don't think you are missing much, if anything.

Thank you so much Greg. I think you are right. The Avantgarde synergy is what’s truly important and the Luxman has it in spades. I still probably prefer the Accuphase looks but it’s the sound that makes the difference.

Congratulations on your integrated.

Joe,
I am using Classic 2SE, TEA 2SE, MF2550 and HD3 DAC.

Ah, very nice. CJ is the one brand that always pulled at my heart. There’s something inherently wonderful about that brand.

Congrats Joe...sounds like you got a keeper. :congrats:

Luxman has always been on my short list for an integrated...most likely a 507uxII or the 509x.
