Lumin X1

If you don't connect the Melco LAN port to switch, I'm not sure whether the Melco works this way.

If you have to connect the Melco LAN port to switch, then you have to disconnect the X1 SFP from the same switch. Otherwise it forms a network loop and won't work.

I ordered the Lumin L2 4TB
And I have the Lumin remote , connected to the LuminX1 through USB port .( I hardly ever use it )
Can the Lumin remote , be connected to the Lumin L2 through USB port ?

I am thinking of adding CAD USB Controler to the LuminX1 through his USB port.

@wklie
I use SFP optical network between the Lumin L2 and the Lumin X1.
Would it be bad if , I would also , in addition , at the same time , link the two Lumins with RJ45 cables . Using my Wavesa EXT-1 ?
[ Lumin L2 ] ---> RJ45 ---> [ Waversa ] ---> Rj45 --> [ Lumin X1 ]

I have this Waversa EXT1 Ethernet filter . I have thought to sell it . But if I can use it with the Lumin set up , I would keep it.

This probably works. If you adopt this setup, unplug the SFP module from the X1 first before you connect the RJ45. (Avoid forming a network loop, which is disastrous.)

Thanks ,
But if I understand , both ( SFP and RJ45 ) can't be connected at the same time , between the L2 and the X1 .
It is one cable ( SFP optic ) or the other( RJ45) ?

So , the Waversa EXT-1 is useless and I should remain with the SFP optic cable .
Well , Waversa EXT-1 for sale .

Many thanks
Pierre

Your Ethernet filter should (hopefully) work for X1 as long as you don't simultaneously use the X1 SFP / fiber to connect to either the L2 or any other uplink to the network. (The reason is there cannot be a network loop.)

So you may consider either one of the following:

1. WiFi Router - (RJ45) - L2 - (SFP) - Fiber - (SFP) - X1 (leaving RJ45 disconnected)

2. WiFi Router - (RJ45) - L2 - (RJ45) - Ethernet Filter - (RJ45) - X1 (leaving SFP disconnected)

Hi,
Today my X1 updated the software to 17.3, and after it was done the unit stopped working. On the display it says Please check network connection. The connection is fine and it also have connection with the app. I can switch on and put it in stand by but I can't start any music. I can also connect it with Spotify connect but it doesn't play.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

My LuminX1 has ´´ Femto Clock ´´ .
Would an external clock , upstream the LuminX1 , be an issue ; counter productive ?
I am thinking about adding the new EtherRegen generation 2 , availlable in 2025 ; with a external clock .
Taking place between my Dela S100/2 switch and the Lumin L2 . Using optic cables.

Thanks
Pierre

Lumin X1 and current products do not support an external clock.

If you're talking about external clock for the network switch, it does not affect the functional compatibility if the network switch itself is not causing an incompatibility.

I am talking about an external clock for the network switch , or a LAN filter .Not an external clock on the LuminX1.
I am realy not technical . I thought , the two clocks might have had negative effects , one over the other.

Many thanks Peter 👍

Can the RCA outs be used for powered subs while the XLR outs are used for my Main amps?

For Lumin with Lundahl transformers i.e. X1 P1 S1 A1 T1, this would cause a slight degradation to sound quality. In this case, your best bet is to use a high level input from a subwoofer such as REL.

For other models, no problem as long as it does not result in a ground loop.
