LUMIN X1 USB Digital Output

I am soliciting advice on utilizing X1 USB to another USB DAC. I tried this yesterday with no success. I have a Vinnie Rossi L2 Signature preamp with USB L2 DAC 2.0 installed. My input to that has been via a Sonore microRendu fed by copper ethernet from a etherRegen. LUMIN X1 is fed by optical ethernet also from the etherREgen. I am curious what differences I would perceive between the X1 processing streaming signal vs the microRendu as well as the X1 DAC vs the L2 DAC 2.0. I connected USB cable from the X1 to the L2. I used the LUMIN App to change Active Audio Output from Analog to USB. I first tried with Roon, but no output. Roon music que did not show selections playing and went through jumping to new progression of que selections after short breaks with no playing showing on Roon nor any output. I then tried playing Playlist from the LUMIN App. Music would not go into play mode, so again no output.

What am I missing or not doing correctly? Thanks in advance for assistance on this.

In Lumin app, please set output to USB, then set Custom Re-sampling to Off and Volume Control to Off.

Disconnect the USB, then wait for a minute.

Power cycle both the Lumin and the Vinnie Rossi.

After X1 is booted up, reconnect the USB and retry. If this does not work, please find another non-audiophile USB cable such as those USB printer cable.

Thank you. Your recommendations worked as advertised. Now that this is working, I find I can compare quickly and easily by pausing play, select change in Output with Lumin App, change Vinnie Rossi output selection, and engaging play again--no need to completely power down the X1 nor Vinnie Rossi L2 Signature.
