Lumin X1 -> THX Onyx -> HP

Hi,
I’m wondering if the USB (bidirectional) port of my Lumin X1 (Leedh volume control) can be used to connect headphones via a USB dongle DAC/pre-amp such as the THX Onyx? Anyone try this?

Since Lumin does not currently adjust the DAC volume via USB, it's probably better to find a headphone amp that has a physical volume knob.
 
Thanks for your quick reply! So a Chord Mojo for example would work between the Lumin X1 and a pair of HPs?
 
We have a number of users with Lumin USB output to Chord DAC, especially the higher priced or newer DAC models. In fact we added DSD256 DoP support for Chord (but also works for a some other brands.) So I think Mojo 2 should work.
