I have been turning my X1 off after use, but lately it seems (to me) that when it is left on continuously it seems to sound better.
So, should the Lumin be turned off after use?

I've never turned any of the ones I've had off and never had any issues because of this. Don't think they draw much power either.

Thank you for the reply.
Funny it does seem that the soundstage is wider and deeper along with better overall sound quality.
I guess my concern is the longevity of the unit, I also have an 8TB hard drive connected.

I turn it off every night when it gets hot outside (During summer months) - the power supply can get really hot, and will probably shorten its life. During the winter I keep it turned on - no worries...
I also turn it off and disconnect it (And the rest of the system)from the wall socket when a thunderstorm is forecasted.

Clock / oscillators need time to stabilize. There are anecdotal claims (not from Lumin users) of recommending warming up over 24 hours for DAC (clock) to sound better.

AudioQuest also has a Technical Paper - Evaluation of Digital Devices Proper Warm-Up for Ideal Listening and Measurement Evaluations that recommends this:

All reasonable approaches. Have any of you heard a better sound with it being on all the time?

To my ears- yes it sounds better. Not a night and day difference, but I can definitely feel something better with the overall presentation/energy, or maybe a more organic sound/harmonic flow, which translates to a more enjoyable listening session.
But it gets better and better as it warms up, as wklie wrote...
