I am running my Lumin X1 direct to my mono blocks. The problem is the mono blocks are near the speakers thus I need about a 3 meter balanced interconnect.
Right now, I am using the Cerious Technologies Matrix which at this point I like, but I am wonderin' if there is a better interconnect to use with the Lumin.
What do you Lumin X1 users use?

Thank you. I was thinking perhaps of the Wireworld Platinum, or perhaps Synergistic, Nordost. Not sure.
But the 3 meter length is going to be expensive. I have about $2000 to spend. Perhaps used?

This is probably a very simplistic and possibly ignorant suggestion that others may legitimately criticize, but what about connecting two shorter length XLR cables to make length you need. I suspect, untested by me, that the last cable in the chain will influence the sound profile the most. If you have other XLR's available along with your Curious Technologies Matrix, you could easily test. It might also be a good idea to wrap the connected cables with some type of insulating/shielding material or suspend with a cable riser if would be contacting carpet or other cables crossing the connection.

I have tried this on a few occasions when there wasn’t a suitable length available, and it was very effective.....and I tend to agree that the last cable used (if it was a different from the preceding one, tended to apply its own “signature” to the resulting sound that one is hearing).
Cheers.....

Bluefox,

I noticed that there is now a Sigma V2. Do you know anything about the differences in the Sigma V2 compared to the Sigma. The website doesn't give a hint.

I’m using Wireworld Platinum 8. This cable is a terrific partner to the X1. It replaced a Shunyata Ztron Anaconda.

Thanks that's the cable I would like to get. Unfortunately I need about a 3 meter pair. And that can get very expensive.

Ozzy - Indeed, 3 meters can be a lot of coin. But, the sound is sublime and yet still a lot less than some of the uber expensive cables.

Ozzy,

I too have the Cerious Matrix XLR and speaker cables. Let us know how your interconnect cable journey goes.

Thanks,
Brian ...

cycles,

Well for the moment, I made a very short pair of speaker cables (about 30"). I made them by using all .9999 solid soft silver wire sleeved through the best oversized PTFE tubing I could find.
I used a combination of various sizes of gauges. (12ga+ 18, 24 and 30). Each strand is separated from the others using oversized teflon tubing. For now I think it sounds better than my Cerious Matrix cables, and they sounded better than anything I used before them.

Next, I'm going to try my hand on building 3M interconnects. The plan at the moment is to use 20 gauge .99999 solid soft, silver in over sized teflon tubing.

Just an update, Shunyata sent me (through a dealer) a Sigma 3M interconnect. It is not the version 2 though.
I must say, thus far this cable is pretty impressive. I just hope I can get a deal on it since it has now been replaced by a newer version and is a demo.

Ozzy - The Sigma is a terrific cable. I use the WW Platinum 8 due to signal synergies with the rest of my system. However; I’m still very faithful to Shunyata on power cable and Ethernet cable products.

Ritmo,
Thanks for your reply. I am impressed with this cable.
Songs that I have played 100's of times are now revealing hidden instruments. I wonder what the Signa 2 does better than the Sigma 1 version.
