I just connected my X1 to my Tambaqui via USB and it doesn't play. I'm at firmware 15.3 on my X1. I have not played it for awhile. Is there a recent change or update that I missed that may be causing this?

Did the X1 work with your Tambaqui previously? Or, is this the first time you've connected your X1 to a Tambaqui?

Alternatively, do you have a S/PDIF cable to see if that interface would work?

My X1 has worked with the Tambaqui previously but it was most recently run direct to the Lumin Amp. I made what I thought were the correct changes using the control app to go from amp direct back to DAC connect. I don't have the right cable to try the S/PDIF connection and have never used it.

Disconnect USB.
Power cycle both the Lumin and the DAC.
After Lumin shows the progress circle on the front panel, change the DAC to USB input.
Connect the USB cable.
In Lumin app, change output to USB.
Turn off Custom Re-sampling (after setting output to USB).
Play a 44.1kHz file, or some default radio like Radio Paradise FLAC.

Thank you Peter. I've already changed the DAC input to USB and the Lumin output to USB. Should I reverse those changes and then do the steps you listed?

With the Lumin X1 USB port connected to the DAC, and Lumin app output set to USB, please post a screen capture of Lumin app About of Lumin X1 - there should be three rows of USB DAC info.

It seems the Lumin is not seeing the USB DAC.

Please try these separately:
1. Use a different USB cable, especially an ordinary (i.e. non-audiophile) USB printer cable. Double check that you have turned off USB custom resampling in Lumin app.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from Lumin. Plug in a USB thumb drive in FAT32 or NTFS format with some 44.1kHz music files into the Lumin. Wait for 10 seconds. In Lumin app, see if there is a Lumin USB Music Server entry in the library selection. Choose it as the library. Set Lumin X1 output back to analog. Add a 44.1kHz music file from the USB drive to the current playlist. then play it. If this works, it proves your Lumin USB port hardware is not faulty.
3. Please use a computer to connect to the USB DAC and play something using any computer audio software. See if the DAC USB hardware is operating normally.

4. Alternatively, you may use a 1.5m BNC to RCA 75 ohm coaxial cable to connect the Lumin BNC port to the DAC SPDIF port. In Lumin app, set output to SPDIF. Then set SPDIF resampling: DSD to 176.4kHz.

There should not be a USB compatibility issue, because a reviewer specifically tested Lumin USB output to this DAC.
