This may have already been answered, but can someone kindly post the steps you need to take to get Roon to work with the Lumin U1? What equipment/app do you need for Roon? I am currently streaming MQA files from my Lumin U1 with the first unfold of "96/24" to my non-MQA DAC using the Tidal Hifi service. Thanks!

If you don't already have a Roon setup, you need to:
- Get a Roon trial or annual subscription or lifetime license
- Install Roon software (that's necessary even if you use iPad to control it) to PC or Mac (and to place the Roon database on a SSD)
- If you would like a dedicated machine to run Roon instead -
If you prefer a fanless device, check out SonicTransporter i7 / i5 or wait for Roon Nucleus. Otherwise buy an intel NUC7i7BNH with no less than 8GB RAM and no less than 250GB SSD.
- Install Roon app to iPad
- Enter your Tidal login details in Roon
- Knowledge base: https://kb.roonlabs.com/

After you get Roon up and running:
- In Lumin app, enable Roon Ready setting
- In Roon, go to Audio Setup, find Lumin under networked Roon Ready devices, then enable it. Be careful not to confuse it with Lumin AirPlay.
- In Roon playback, Lumin is now selectable

I currently run my U1 from a Synology NAS, what benefits would I get from adding Roon and where does it sit in my playback chain, in between the NAS and the Lumin?

If your Synology NAS uses x86 and have 4GB RAM or more, you may be able to install Roon Core to Synology. Otherwise you'd need a computer or NUC or Nucleus to install the Roon Core. Then install Roon Remote app to iPad.

As for the benefits, some people like its UI, DSP, enhanced metadata for library management and music discovery.
