Lumin U1 mini w/ bryston BDA3

First post here. I’m moving from a bryston Pi to a Lumin mini, and as a I have a bryston dac I’m running USB. For those of you who have the mini where does the stronger sound lay USB or AES? Bryston dac’s do have a really solid USB in and out for SQ. Rest of my system is all Bryston BP26, 4B3, Focal 1027BE and crystal cable everything except for a Nordost Hemidal 2 USB.
 
Welcome. USB is going to be the most flexible for formats. Although I think AES can have a more relaxed, full presentation, the limitations (DSD, etc.) are enough to optimize the USB with a good cable.
 
I think the Lumin rep on this forum has stated AES is more suitable on a few occasions. Hopefully he will chip in soon.
