you know the one. (ios phone app) Lose entire playlist at one tiny/squeezed in UI playlist app button mis-press, with no help/no warning! No courtesy warning ie "are you sure"! No looking back at mis-press Fatal error delete's entire playlist! Horrible! FIX IT. C'mon. Bullcrackers. Way overdue.

I almost did it again but being massively >fearful< of touching app I did caught myself.

Don't ask me what I'm talking about either, it's blitheringly obvious, once you've done it. AND THEY KNOW!

with those "--" crossed out. Absolute the worst botton ever - NO WARNING!!!!

You need to configure the Lumïn app to ask a confirmation, and there is a comprehensive manual on line too

stefano-mbp, thank you for posting that. But that option won't affect the button I'm talking about. I already have that setup as in your red arrow.

I just tested two iphones, 12 Mini and 8 Plus. Setup per red arrow. ios 17.1. Lumin 9.0.2

If you add to playlist, the Play and replace will wipe the playlist without warning (and add to top of new playlist - the button works) but no safety net confirmation warning. Confirm when Clear Playlist does not work there.

Manual:
"Play and replace: Replaces the whole of the Playlist with the selection, and starts playing" Confirm when Clear Playlist does not work in this location - happy to admit user error but I've tested as mentioned.

There is a “Play queue” and “Playlists”, in the manual you can read how to manage the Play queue and Playlists

I can but I won't. Lumin should print a downloadable manual. They refuse to. Did you test my previsous button problem?

It's very easy - make a 1600 long playist, or, 1 song playlist. Check that red arrow you posted. Now go to add song to playlist and click that little fumbling fatal button. Have fun! Now that you've had fun loosing.. do that over the course of a year loosing your playlist..without a safety net. Have fun!

You did not read my first response earlier (okay it was long winded) Start over.

The fact that wklie liked your post is...insane. (again, glad to admit user error) but I call it as I see it. And it dun broke. do correct me, but fuckoff, if you donl't test as indicated.

To add one or more songs to a Playlist do as follow:
add the playlist to the play queue
add one or more songs to the play queue
save back the play queue in a playlist using the same name (ie overwrite existing playlist)

you have not tested per my indication. Or let me know if I'm missing your advice (after you tested) ? Did you test mine, or was I not clear. Let me know. but test it.

Thanks for trying. I am pretty dang sure.

It is 12:00 AM here. Goodnight, stefano-mbp!

Try those buttons

They should generate a downloadable manual when they already have a printed version, otherwise you won't read it? Un-friggen believable. Hard to take you erious.

@XRS,

While I'm of an age that has been accustomed to printed manuals, I really have liked the web/download version--it is updated as new models, software updates, and features become available. Printed version could very easily become out of date quickly. There is always the option of one printing part or all, but I have not done so. It seems to me web/download manuals are increasingly common for not only audio but other unrelated devices and equipment.

Hi XRS
The 'Play and Replace' should definitely prompt the user when the above setting is turned to 'on'.

The 'Play and Replace' button can appear in different places. Can you let us know which one doesn't provide a confirmation?

One is in the popup here - which can be launched from many places - In case it is useful to our engineers, could you say where you 'pressed and held' in order to generate the popup? (which streaming service and app area location).

Another is in the browse window when 'double tap' is set and a track highlighted:

Please note that while we offer help where possible on forums, the language used in some of your posts is counterproductive and doesn't encourage manufacturers' discussion contribution which many Audioshark users value.

I tested here, do as follows to replicate XRS's issue.

In settings set "Confirm when Clear Playlist" to "On"

Add some albums manually into a new blank playlist. (It does not matter whether you save it or not)
Swipe back to the genre/artist/etc albumlist
Press and hold any album title, then choose [Play and replace button]
Result: playlist wiped/replaced without the Yes / No question.

Edit: when "Confirm when Clear Playlist" is "On"
[v] Delete button bottom of playlist --> this does ask to clear playlist Y/N
[x] Play and replace button from left top --> replaces and plays immediately without asking clear playlist Y/N
[x] Play and replace button when highlighting multiple files when Double Tap + Play Later in settings --> replaces and plays immediately without asking clear playlist Y/N
[x] Play and replace button when holding album title in tab Album / Artist / Genre / Year / Most Recent views > replaces and plays immediately without asking clear playlist Y/N

Tested latest app version, latest iOS, on iPhone.

Manual > App General Settings > Confirm when Clear Playlist" > When this is set to 'On', the [Delete button] or the [Play and replace button] won't clear the Playlist until a yes/no answer is given.

Please help check the cases you noted are fixed in iOS app 9.0.3. Thanks.
