A nice benefit of the Lumin I recently discovered is that if you download the Spotify app or MOG app (or similar) and subscribe to these services, you can stream directly from your iPad to the Lumin. You simply select the Lumin as the output device in the MOG/Spotify or similar app and voila, you're in business. And you know what, it doesn't sound half bad either!

This is good to know, Mike. Should I make the change to Lumin I know I won't be giving up my much loved MOG service...

What advantages does the Lumin have over a DAC for streaming MOG?

The iPad controls everything. There is no computer involved. To my ears, it sounds better than any time I streamed MOG/Spotify over any of my previous DACS via my Mac or PC.

Hi Micro. Know if you can send music to Lumin with normal (non-premium) version of Spotify?
Regards

I think you send send any music to the Lumin from your iPad or AirPlay connected device.

Which, unfortunately, means that you're using the DAC in your iDevice :(.

DAC stands for Digital-to-Analog Converter. I don't think you can send "analog audio" from an iDevice to LUMIN via Airplay! So don't worry, the iDevice DAC is not used in this case! :P

Are you sure about that? As far as I know there are devices without DAC's that receive AirPlay content. I would surprised if it sent both analog and digital content.

Ok, I know where is my problem. I have a Wifi signal repeater and although it is in the same range of IP addresses that the Router, when they are both active, no Airplay icon appears in my Ipad.
