That's a decision only the buyer can make. I hope to have my review completed by end of the month. I wanted to ensure the S1 was fully broken in. A1 vs S1 will ultimately be budget and system dependent.

Mike - I've been delinquent with my review with the summer and kids off from school and everything. It's fabulous. Is it better than the A1? I would say that's very system dependent - or whether you're just itching to hear one of those 13 double DSD albums that exist!
If your system could use a little warming up, then the A1 will be the ticket. If your system could use a little sweetening up, then the S1 will be the ticket.
Speaking of Double DSD, I have tried it and it sounds quite impressive. I downloaded some albums made in double DSD and others which had the master tapes converted to double DSD.

Mike, do you use the Lumin with a pre-amp and if so is there any comparison or say benefits of say tubes vs SS.

- (regression) Fixed LUMIN S1 may miss initial 0.5 second music of a track when playback starts
- Support file playback from LUMIN L1 using direct USB connection (if user really want to use L1 as a USB HDD)
- Display multiple Artist on the front panel when multiple Artist tags are presented.
