Hi,

I've just joined this forum as it has a dedicated Lumin forum :D

I'm considering buying the D2 player, but I have some questions. Firstly the Lumin will be the only source, I have no need for CD or anything else.

Can I connect directly to a Benchmark media AHB2 power amp via balanced xlr without the need for a preamp, and use the volume control on the Lumin.

Are there advantages or disadvantages of this approach if it can be done?

My router is two floors away from my listening room, so I was hoping I could connect the Lumin to one of my Netgear Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System modules that is in my listening room, and connect it to the ethernet in the Nighthawk. From your experience would I be able to do this without problems?

And finally, I have a Samsung T7 external SSD (USB) with lots of ripped CDs on it. Does the Lumin's USB have enough power to the T7 or would I need an externally powered SSB?

Many thanks.

1. Yes, Lumin has Leedh Processing Volume. So you may use the Lumin volume and direct connect it to the amp if desired.

2. Only if your WiFi network is robust.

3. It's best to connect the storage device to a NAS or computer and run MinimServer on it. Some USB SSD may require higher power than the Lumin can provide.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome.

Re. the wifi, am I right to assume that if I can stream 4k tv that my wifi is robust enough?
