Lumin, Leedh’ing the way

Leedh Processing comes to all LUMIN players

Leedh Processing is an innovative new digital volume adjustment algorithm that eliminates rounding errors and modifies the digital signal amplitude exactly, without any changes to its shape and free from any kind of information loss.

We are very excited to announce that with LUMIN firmware v13, all LUMIN users now have the option to use (at no additional cost) Leedh Processing Volume Control instead of the default processing algorithm.

Re: Leedh Processing Volume free upgrade

WOW!! Read the article. Appears to be a revolutionary technology. Kudos to Lumin as an early exploiter at no additional charge.

Re: Leedh Processing Volume free upgrade

Scroll down to near the bottom. Most of it’s French but the Lumin section is in English.

Yes, I think that's an important feature to protect speakers. I take credit in making this a reality.

Screw speakers!...how about protecting our EARS?! I thank you for making this happen. I also want to thank myself for requesting this :)

Re: Leedh Processing Volume free upgrade

So is this new technology better than using a passive pre-amp, as I do?

I think that's going to be an interesting thing to test. Certainly that review by Joël Chevassus suggests that he found that to be the case in his system.
If LUMIN in your only source, it makes sense to give it a go!

I'd be really interested in your findings.

Forgive my dumbness. I have a bryston BP26 Lumin Mini and a Bryston BDA3. Do I still use this Leedh or turn it off And just use my pre for volume control? I have had a electrical issue so I’ve been off line for a few weeks and haven’t updated. Thanks I don’t understand what this does.

The normal way to use LUMIN in this setup is to leave volume at 100% in the LUMIN App. This way there is no volume processing done of any kind.
This was true before and after firmware v13.

You don't need to turn it off.

Hi, I am using a U1 mini, connected via USB to an Oppo 205 as dac. I do not get the Lumin volume control working via the app (Android). Does it not function via USB of is something wrong?
Nb. Its not a big deal as I do not really need the volume control but still like to know if my Lumin is functioning as it should.

Hi Anwo
Is the Volume control turned on in settings?

Please clarify what do you mean by the volume not working - after you've decreased the volume, it still has the same loudness? Or after you've adjusted the volume, there is no sound?

If you experience difficulty with the app not allowing to change the volume, after you've enabled the volume control and Leedh in Lumin app, you may use Linn Kazoo for playback and volume change.

After I decrease the volume or even mute no changes in volume, same sound.
