Lumin L1

Hi Mike,

Any more details? Storage capacity, expected release? etc.

Thanks,
Mike

Lots. I posted under the picture thread for Axpona. Let me know if you can’t find it.

I found a couple of pictures of Lumin equipment but couldn't find any details. Does "Lots" refer to information or storage?

Thanks.

It’s basically a full sized device with Ethernet in and out, fiber in and out, build in network filtering and dual bays for SSD storage (dual 8TB for example).

It looks amazing. No price info yet.

I just looked at the pics Mike posted from his AXPONA thread. There are actually TWO SFP cages for optical transceivers on the L2. This makes me think it may be possible to connect in from your network via optical fiber to the L2, and then, connect out via fiber from the L2 to a P1, U1X, U2, or X1 directly via optical as well.

Peter Lie, can you please confirm if that is the case? If so, that would be....outstanding. 👍

Oh, and i just noticed: there's also a dedicated chassis ground terminal on the L2, so you could also connect it to an Altaira. :woot:

Those guys at Lumin have got it goin' on, I'm tellin' ya what... 👊

Mike,

Are the dual SSD storage bays for the L2 populated only by Lumin drives or are the drives user selectable from separate supplier, Samsung for example?

It’s a choice. Lumin can supply or the end user orders without storage and pops in their own drives of choice.

Thanks Mike. I very much like those options. I have an Antipodes K50, where the owner supplies the drives. With the Antipodes, installing 2 drives makes for a single logical drive. Will the L2 be similar? The L2 is looking very interesting to me.
