Lumin Forum?

Maybe I think like an European, but here it is normal that a shop owner gets a profit margin from a sold item. Big shops have a better negotiation position then small ones, and can buy cheaper.

Point is, that if a distributor wants at least a certain margin and a seller negotiates very sharp then there is no deal at all. And if: on top of that, you must pay for space on a forum with 20 posts/year then maybe it is an idea to talk to each other and find a modus where you both have a profitable business.

Last but not least: these tariffs must be paid by someone, if for instance a distributor in the chain loses here, this might have consequences in the availability of certain audio brands we all like.

I'm sorry - none of that makes sense nor has anything to do with this instance. What exactly has that got to do with what Lumin did to cause this?

And as for the tariffs - we've been paying them (getting screwed) for years shipping to your countries. Once you guys play fair and "stop thinking like a greedy European" regarding tariff's then they will go away.

See how easy this is?

Well it is very hard to read in between the lines. I was thinking of getting the new Lumin X2 but now I'm not sure what is going on.
BTW, I live in the USA

I will say this.
Wklie has been very helpful to me and many others regarding Lumin set up and performance issues.
Not sure of the real rational behind his removal from this forum, but it is a mistake.

Hi Ozzy,

You can 10000% blame the US distributor.

There is a phone number listed on this forum for anyone with Lumin issues they can call for assistance.

If Lumin HQ cares about its customers it will deal with the US distributor issue. If they don't then that's on them.

the mistakes are all on their US Distributor. And as I said, no problems with Wklie or any of the great folks at Lumin HK. They know what they need to do.

I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes, but I can say this: Peter's involvement on this forum and the massive amount of help that he has given me and who knows how many other LUMIN owners is one of the biggest reasons why I considered myself in the LUMIN family forever.

I was coming here this morning to discuss the brand new N1 switch, but this news changes everything for me. Until I know the full story of what happened, and until it is resolved satisfactorily, I will be on the sidelines.

FYI: A quick search for Source Systems on LUMIN's website showed nothing. in fact, a search for the U.S. distributor showed nothing.

I think this will be a very good opportunity for us all to see just how seriously HQ takes supporting the customer.

If they clean up the US distributor mess then that's a great sign. If they don't, that will be disappointing.

Support and helping is a two way street. If the US distributor doesn't care then why should others?

Lumin HQ has a very clear and easy path to fix this. I genuinely hope they do. This is completely on them to clean this up.

I have no dog in this fight, I have no side. I can only say it does surprise me that a company such a Lumin was using a free forum as its main way to support customers and has no way of doing so like most other companies do through their own web site.

I really hope Lumin cleans up its act. Although I don't own their gear, I do want as many choices for consumers as possible.

There is nothing wrong to use a free forum like Audioshark to support customers. It benefits both Mike and Lumin. More traffic and more people joining this site. WBF used to be like that. Once WBF has enough users, it changes to sponsor forum. I don’t blame WBF as other audiophile forums like Audiophilestyle is also the same. Some companies like dcs has its own community site. It is pretty dead. I prefer to go a few forums to have as much information or support as possible.
