Hi folks,
I own a RME Adi Dac 2 and were about considering to buy a LUMIN U1 mini to get into streaming via quboz. Now, when doing some research I came across a Dutch company offering the so called AudioFacts Pro modification for LUMIN products. You can see what they are doing on Facebook. They claim that their modification of the D2 beats products triple the price tag.

Is there anybody with experience on this modification ? Of course, I know that I’ll loose the original warranty that comes with the LUMIN

Thanks for your help and advice

I would try it vanilla before modding it. It's hard for me to imagine getting too much more out of what Lumin's already done, and the U and X both sound really, really good imo.

i´ve been cheching the Webssite and also Facebook of Audiofacts Pro.. it looks interesant what they say... also in the photos I saw in some cases they use the "Sbooster" there are some posts here talking about the improvements with this external power device.
If you are in Netherlands may be you can call this guys and ask for more information.. as I said in the begnning it looks interesant.!!!

I'm very concerned with such modification.

It's not only losing warranty. Even if you are willing to pay for repair we won't repair it.

Glad to see Lumin take this stand. These mods and after market PSU’s has got to stop. It’s totally unfair to Lumin. Lumin has no control over the quality of parts these other manufacturers are using and what’s directly connected to the boards of a Lumin they are expected to warranty or spend valuable resources repairing.

The U1 Mini has also been discontinued and it's impossible to find new. There may still be some open box return units or you could buy used. Rumor is a U2 Mini is soon to be announced.

I read the AudioFacts Facebook post. It sounds like they are using the same marketing firm as Synergistic Research. No substance, all nonsense.
