Lumin App Request

There seems an error with the album art via minim server in the latest app. I noted on iPad mini and on iPhone that when playing an album via replacing the playlist, that it here and there shows a black square instead of the album art. The album art then appears after clicking on the album art then clicking back to the playlist, or the album art then appears when the next song of the album starts playing. Album art sometimes also missing after adding new albums and looking them up in the Last Modified.

I don't know what a "minim server" is, but album art occasionally not being shown on the iPad Mini has always occurred. Sometimes it appears if you touch the black spot where the art should be. Other times you need to close/reopen the app for the picture to appear.

Interesting. I noticed only after updating to 7.3.2 (or 7.3.1. maybe). Indeed the album art occasionally not showing.
Upon reproducing I had the "luck" to see it happen. I replaced playlist on iPhone. I saw the album art pop up briefly, then disappear briefly (black spot), then pop up briefly again, then disappear again (black spot) and playing started. With the app open on iPad also I noted exactly the same happened on iPad.
First song than had no album art, and from the 2nd song in the album the album art was showing again.

P.s. miniserver I believe is the lumin advised media server, or what they use at demos. Maybe wklie can confirm :)
 
Please reboot the iOS device and let me know whether this improves the black album art issue or not. We never saw it in office, otherwise we would have fixed it already.
 
My case I noticed it after Minimserver update with new albums and performing library Update.
It seemed resolved after library Rescan.
I suspect that updating the library twice as such had resolved it.
To be sure I've rebooted today (thus after above) the iOS devices to be sure and will let know if it occurs again.
 
In addition to having a Lumin, I also have an Aurender streamer. The Aurender lets you display both the front and back cover of an album. I request that Lumin include this in the future.
 
I notice Lumin clock signal disappears when volume slides goes to 0. It is possible to keep the output clock signal running at volume 0?

Which model? Which output?

If you're using U2Mini, make sure you are running firmware 15.0i
 
Maybe you can add volume support for mobile phones (physical + and - button) in the Lumin app. With Bubble or Kazoo it is possible, with Hi-Fi Cast for Hi-Fi Cast only.
 
This is a feature we will not support. Any sort of imperfection can potentially cause you to blow up the speakers or worse, your ears.

I recognize there are plenty of users using other apps with such a feature with no problem whatsoever, but this is a risk we're not going to take.
 
I am using a T2..with the Analog Output set to Normal.

I have firmware 15.0. I don't have this Analog Output Balance option under the Max Volume %. I will try and download firmware 15.1 and also update my app to see if this fixes the issue.


If this is really a L and R balance control I am going to be BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems that my OLD IPAD's LUMIN app was not up to date. Its so old that it will not accept an update. I then tried out a NEW Samsung A8 Galaxy Tab. The LUMIN app runs TERRIBLY on this. The VOLUME numbers LAG and sometimes it will start playing a RANDOM song, lock up, which sometimes raises the volume to 100 when carefully moving volume setting. So LUMIN I suggest if you care about the Android side of things and our ears...you NEED TO TEST this on the new Galaxy TABS. Very Dangerous!!!!

p.s. i did see the new Balance control on the updated app...Thank you, very nice LUMIN!!!
 
It works normally when I tested a Samsung Tab S8. As an Android OS user and not personally owing any iPhone or iPad, I care about Android deeply. We have also recently procured a low-end Samsung 2022 phone for testing.

If you experience severe lag, one possible cause is WiFi issue.

Please change your router WiFi 2.4GHz and 5GHz to be two different SSID, and connect your devices to each individually. See if one works better than the other.

While I appreciate you offering a possible solution, it just feels WRONG for me to have try to re-config my perfectly fast reliable router to run, what seems like a VERY SIMPLE app.
If my 11 year old IPAD can run the program perfectly fine without ever having schizophrenic seizures with the volume control...why would I even remotely entertain the thoughts of possibly blowing up my EAR DRUMS up with an untested tablet. Sorry I don't agree with your answer.
 
@wklie Hi Peter, thanks for so many great updates over the years. I like the mods you recently made to the app based on Chris’ (CA/AS) suggestions. I’ve been annoyed by the home-screen bar on my iPad Pro 2020 blocking the bitrate data for so long, but just waited for you guys to see it and fix it…and now you have! Thanks!

I have request: is there any way with Qobuz songs to indicate in the LUMIN app if I have already made a song a Favorite in Qobuz? Like how Qobuz shows a heart?

In the Lumin app I long press and add songs to Qobuz favorites all the time, but many times they are already faves.
