My current setup is as follows:
1. ThinkPad X1 Laptop i7 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, WINDOWS 10
2. Lumin T1
3. Roon+Tidal+iTunes Library (AIFF)
4. MinimServer (latest version) on laptop.
5. iPhone 7 and iPad to control remotely
6. NetGear Nighthawk AC1900 Router/Modem (laptop and Lumin T1 connected by CAT 5e cables)

MinimServer and LUMIN appear on my network, and I am able to access my iTunes library from the LUMIN app on my phone and iPad. I am also able to access my Tidal and music library in Roon on my laptop, but LUMIN does not appear as a network player. The LUMIN app on my phone and iPad only shows music content with no settings options, so I cannot control the settings on the LUMIN T1.

I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Peter,

When I "Select a LUMIN" from the App from the gear icon, I receive a screen which is black with a LUMIN header at the top, but there is no selection for a device. I also clicked on LUMIN:LUMIN under Media Devices on my Network, and the Lumin Properties window displays the Lumin Model as T1 1.0. In trouble shooting information section the serial number is unavailable, and it does show a MAC, Unique identifier and IP address. My laptop and LUMIN show that I am connected to the Network via ethernet, and my iPhone is connected by Wi-Fi.

Thanks for your interest. When I click on Lumin on my Network, it does display model T1 1.0. In the app, when I "Select a LUMIN", I see a black screen with a white LUMIN header, but not selection for a LUMIN device. This has been frustrating for me. It is probably something simple, but I have been working on this on and off for the past two days.

How does the Lumin show up on your network in the router settings (e.g. is it statis)?
Phil,

In my NetGear Settings, the Device Name is listed as LUMIN with an IP and MAC Address and a Connection Type is wired. The status is listed as Allowed and the Access Control is Turned On.

If the T1 is working as it should and you don't have more than one Lumin controlled device on the network then there isn't anything to select.

Jack, Thanks for the reply. In my case the T1 in the App cannot be selected or is not activated, the display settings in the app are missing and I cannot control any of the Lumin T1 settings.

Peter,

Thanks for the email from Roon Labs. The advice to tap "Select a LUMIN" in the Lumin app and select Lumin T1 is not available in my app as I described in my previous post. I am also not able to change any of the Lumin app settings (Roon Ready, Lumin Streaming, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Digital Out, etc.) since I do not have access to any display settings in the Lumin app.

Here is what I currently see in Roon in the Audio Setup.

I did update the disable SmartConnect the NetGear modem/router, but I was not able enable the IGMP. Thanks for all of your help so far. I'm determined to get this working because I know the reward is worth it!!!

Don

If the issue is that your control device (phone or iPad) is not communicating with the Lumin then shut the control device and the T1 off completely. Wait a few minutes and then turn the T1 back on and let it completely boot up and then turn on the iPad or phone and open the Lumin device and see if they can talk to each other. If that doesn't work you may have to shut down back to the router and then follow the same procedure one device at a time to the control device. The complete shutdown may be necessary if the T1 was inserted while everything else was already on.

Please shutdown the Lumin, iPad, Roon Core computer and all network devices. Power cycle the WiFi router and network switches / access points. Wait for 5 minutes. Then power up everything.

After powering up the iPad, please make sure it is connected to the WiFi network, not cellular. Then start Lumin app, check if it allows you to select Lumin T1.

If this still does not work, please go into Netgear router settings, disable Smart Connect, disable Wireless Isolation, and enable IGMP (not disabled).

Problem Solved!!! Our talked with my IT expert at work, and he suggested that I disable my Google Wi-Fi hub from my modem/router and run my Wi-Fi from my modem/router and ethernet cable. The Lumin App works and it Lumin T1 works great now. Thanks to everyone that helped. Steve.

I'm glad you solved the problem. I'd like some clarifications though, for the benefit of other users who may have a setup similar as yours.

If I'm not mistaken, Google WiFi wasn't mentioned here or in your Roon forum thread.

1. Is your Roon working ok now?

2. Is that the newer Google WiFi ($299 for 3pack) or the older OnHub (US$199.99)? If you're using the older OnHub, was it Blue, Black or Slate Gray?

3. Was the Netgear router WiFi disabled or enabled before that? If it was enabled, you should see both Netgear WiFi and Google WiFi on your iPad.

4. What exactly was you original network topology? How did you get the internet into two routers (one Netgear, one Google)? Is it something like this?
Internet or modem - [WAN port] Netgear router [LAN port] - Google WiFi

If you were using this toplogy, it won't work because you have two routers and one router is behind another. In a normal setup, the Netgear router and Google WiFi are mutually exclusive, you can use either one but not both together unless one is turned into an Access Point mode (without routing function and no longer acting as a router).
