First time setup. Got T2 and Apple Lumin app installed. I have an existing Tidal account. As I am listening to a song in my Lumin app how do I add the song to my existing Tidal playlist. I can pull up my Tidal playlists but I do not see how tp add new songs to an existing Tidal playlist.

Thanks. Already read through the Tidal section. Maybe my brain is not working right. Can't determine how to add a song to an existing Tidal playlist (when the Tidal playlist existed before installing the Lumin app).

You can save the current Lumin playlist to Tidal system as a Tidal playlist, but in Lumin app there is no way to manage your existing Tidal system playlists.

Trying adding to the playlist using the desktop app and see if it shows up the next time you open it in the Lumin app.

Ok. That makes for an awkward transition to the Lumin app. I have tons of songs in existing Tidal playlists. Not being able to add to those existing playlists means that I will have to create additional one that the Lumin app can manage. I'm switching from Bluesound Tidal integration to Lumin Tidal integration. The Bluesound Tidal app would let you add to Existing Bluesound Tidal playlists. For that matter, these playlists were created in Tidal by the Bluesound app.

That's the difference. You could add to Bluesound playlists using the Bluesound app. The same would be true if you were going from Lumin to Bluesound which is why I suggested trying to make your adds in the desktop app and see if they show up.

Thanks for your help. I can try adding from the desktop but I really want to add while I am listening via the Lumin app rather than having to write down songs I want to add then finding them on the desktop then adding.

BTW, while on ipad from my Lumin Tidal app, I can delete songs from my existing Bluesound playlists. I just can't add to them.

Will be interesting to see if when the next time you open that playlist after opening the Lumin app from a shutdown iPad if the songs are still gone or pop back up.

As a workaround, see if this works: please clear the current Lumin playlist, load the Tidal playlist, that becomes the Lumin current playlist. Edit the current playlist as you want, then export (save) the Lumin playlist to Tidal using the same playlist name or a new one.

Thanks Peter. I can try but if I use the same playlist name, I am concerned it would overwrite my existing playlist and erase everything in it which would be a disaster. Also to note, prior to your workaround, I cannot search on the existing tidal playlist in addition to the problem I mentioned.

Peter, I tried your workaround. Saving as same name overrides existing playlist. Save as new name creates a new playlist but I still cannot add individual songs to that playlist. Duplicating playlists (two residing in Tidal itself) is not a great working around.

Beyond not being able to pull up resident Tidal playlists directly from the Lumin app, adding songs to specific Tidal playlists seems to be a missing feature. When I hold down on track, I am given several options such as Remove Track (from Tidal playlist) and Add To Favorite (Tidal Favorite) but there is no option to Add To any of the Tidal Playlist. When finding and listening to individual songs, it is a very common desire to add a song to a specific Tidal playlist. Maybe I am missing something. The Bluesound app has Add to (Tidal) Playlist and I used it every time I was using Bluesound...find a great song, choose add to playlist, select a Tidal playlist and click add.

Thanks.

Clear the Lumin playlist
Tap and hold the album art of your Tidal playlist to add everything to Lumin playlist
Add music to Lumin playlist
Save (export) Lumin playlist to Tidal (overwrite or new)

All those steps seem awkward just to add a particular song to an existing tidal playlist. Let's say in a given listening session I want to add twelve different songs to any of 6 different playlists. That would be awkward. The bluesound app allows me to click add to tidal playlist, I chose the playlist and I am done. Can you make that change to the lumin app?

You may also use Tidal app and AirPlay to Lumin at up to 16/44.1 lossless CD-quality.

Or you may use Roon.

Or you may check out other OpenHome controller apps and see which serve your needs better.
