Lumin App and Apple Music

I don’t think so but I was thinking of consolidating with the Apple One subscription. Would love to take it for a spin to compare to Tidal.

There are so many streaming offerings that I am sure Lumin’s, and other, marketing departments are going nuts. :)

Please use AirPlay to play Apple Music.

Apple music is lossy 256kbps AAC.

For lossy music streaming I'd rather use Spotify 320kbps OGG.

I personally am much more interested in being able to use Amazon Music HD through the Lumin. Any progress on that, or is it dead in the water?

That's completely up to Amazon. If they are not willing to release their API then only their original "partners" listed on their website will be included. I suspect every major player in the streamer industry has reached out to them but no one has gotten a positive response as yet. It's not up to Lumin, Auralic, Aurender, Innuos, etc., it is up to Amazon.

Thanks Jack. I guess I should have worded my question differently.....as in has there been any headway in trying to get Amazon to allow others to jump on board. Again...thanks.

Well.... Apple Music as of today is no longer lossy

Peter, please clarify. I was under the impression that Apple Music can only be used via Airplay which would reduce the file to a lower bit rate less than 16/44. Thanks.

Until Apple decides to release their API to the Streamer makers it won't matter what format their transmitting in as Airplay will be the only choice if you don't want to use a laptop or desktop and a hard wired connection. So for now whatever that translates to via Airplay is it.

To use Apple Music with Lumin, you will need to use AirPlay. It can be lossless 16/44.1.

To have full benefits of Hi-Res from Apple Music, preliminary reports seem to indicate you'll need to connect a USB DAC to an iOS device (not a Mac) via an adapter, but this needs to be confirmed.
