LUMIN - Android app

I'm thinking of buying the D1 but I only have a 5" Android mobile that I was going to use the Lumin app on - Will this be a problem, as it's below 7"?

I had a look at the app on Google Play Store and the reviews are not good, with a lot of users saying it constantly crashes, which is a bit worrying.

From what I understand, the D1 can only be controlled by the app. Are there any other apps I can use if the Lumin app crashes, apart from 'Bubble'?
 
Linn Kazoo, Bubble DS Next, Roon (requires a Roon subscription)

I think we may have another update to the Android app in several weeks.
 
I think 5" works for Bubble DS Next. I guess the same is true for Kazoo, but I haven't spent enough time with this app.

5" is not sufficient for Lumin app.
 
I've pressed the 'power' button using the Android app to put the D1 into standby, but the next day when I've launched the Android Lumin app to come out of standby, the Lumin options are not shown.

The only way to get the options to show again, is to turn the Lumin D1 off at the back and relaunch the Lumin app.

This has happened each time I've put the D1 into standby.

Can this be looked into and fixed.
 
I am not an apple user but, I a couple of years ago I got a used ipad mini2 for a good price just to run audio apps like jremote and the D1 that I picked up almost a year ago. Im still not an apple person but, the apps do run very smooth on my 130$ Ipad. I also like keeping it separate over the rest of my stuff.
