Looking to swap my Moon 390 for a analog pre

Good day all, I’m looking to move my Moon 390 probably for a Hegel P20 or 30 if I can pitch it. It will be matted up with the Moon 760A and will pick up a lumin D3. I’m looking for that open transparency sound I miss from my Bryson BP26. I don’t think the Bryson and moon would pair well, though I’ve never heard it either. I like the 390 but I’m missing that speed sparkle and transparency I was used to. Focal 1027’s and all siltech cables.

Anyone have an opinion about the Hegel and moon 760a together. Open to other suggestions as well. Thanks

Edited part. If I’m only streaming Roon could I use the lumin as a pre?

I find that the Moon 760A power amplifier leans just slightly to the warm side of neutral, so it may be contributing to your desire for greater “speed, sparkle, and transparency.” From a gain matching perspective, your Moon 390 (10 db max gain) is ideal for pairing with the 760A (31 db gain). If you are intent on replacing the 390, I would consider only relatively low-gain preamplifiers.

For the “open transparency” you seek, I cannot help but suggest a vacuum tube preamplifier. Just an example - the ModWright Instruments LS 99 balanced tube preamplifier, which has max gain of 11 db. Many others out there.
