Looking for suggestions for a <$3K CD transport

To the OP:
Find a used Oppo 95 and use it as a transport, or better yet, get rid of your current DAC and use the Oppo 95 DAC function as well!

A dedicated CD transport brings no advantage over streaming.
I hear ya, but I'm not a streamer yet.
Maybe it's silly and I should jump into the streaming world.
- But I'm old and I love my DAC.

Thank you very much for your reply, but I can't get rid of my current DAC. It sounds great and I like tubes..

Anyway, thanks all. I would have bought something by now but I've been traveling too much the past few months. I don't want something expensive sitting on the front stoop collecting rain while I'm away..

I have been into semi-high-end audio for 40+ years but do not enjoy streaming either. I do love my digital setup and copy all of my digital albums to my PC server. I recently sold my Oppo because I no longer have a need of ripping my SACDs and found that it had sat in my rack for almost a year without being listened to. Every silver disc I get is ripped to the server, and I have all the SACDs I need (ripped to my server). Moving forward I purchase my digital albums from places like HDTracks and DSD albums from NativeDSD. Along with vinyl I feel I am well supplied with music and have a difficult enough time choosing what to play. I do not have a need of the selections available on streaming services, at a lower quality standard than what I currently have. Also, the Oppo DAC was very good, but my separate DAC is far superior.

I've got my eye on the 9000.
Can you elaborate a bit more?
Have you compared it to other transporters or just with integrated CD players?
I had a MOON 260D (DAC+transport) but I wanted to try a transport CD player to see if there was a difference in the sound. I plugged the 9000 with its digital output directly into the digital input of the 260D. I was able to compare the 2 transports from a common DAC (as the DAC is the same for the 2 transports, I concluded that if I heard a difference, it would come from the transport). The 9000 had better definition, the soudstage was a little bit bigger, more details in the high frequencies. So I decided to sell my 260D and bought the 9000 CDT.

Thanks for the reply. Very informative since the comparison was made with a good machine. The CDT 9000 is now at the top of my priorities.
