For the past year Marlene and I have discussed getting a golf cart to ride around the property and down the road to visit the neighbors. As it turned out, yesterday was the day. I looked at this customized Yamaha 48 volt electric PTV (personal transportation vehicle) about a week ago and just couldn't get it out of my head. I had it delivered yesterday evening. Today Marlene and I drove it around the paths on my 17 acres and drove it a mile down the grass shoulder of the road to the little Quick Mart store and back home. We had a blast with it today.

Being electric it is silent, no motor noise, no exhaust fumes, just press the accelerator pedal and go. It will do 18 mph, and on a full charge will travel 28 miles before needing to be charged back up. The Yamaha battery charger is fully automatic, just plug it into the cart overnight and she's ready to go in the morning.

The custom paint is pearlescent white with a lavender accent. We've already named the cart "Pearl". It has a six inch lift kit installed with 22" x 12" rims and tires. It has a LED battery level meter that indicates the state of charge so you have an idea of the reserve power while you are out and about. It has halogen headlights and LED tail lights. The cart also has a 48 volt to 12 volt, 30 amp convertor so 12 volt accessories can be powered. The rear seat bottom flips to the rear to make a platform for carrying things if needed, otherwise it remains in the seat position. The only thing I had the dealer add was the left and right rearview mirrors.

Yamaha makes a strong cart. When compared to EZ-GO and Club Car there is no comparison. Marlene and I already love Pearl. I should have bought one of these years ago. It is handy, convenient, and fun.

Joe.......Thanks. Yamaha has a custom overhead console that attaches to the top front of the canopy that includes built in coaxial speakers and an AM/FM/CD player. I'm already thinking about it. :)

Man must be some kind of star alignment stuff going on. The wife and I were today looking at golf carts to drive around the neighborhood. She liked this one. I tell these darn things ain't cheap.

Congrats Dan! Looks like an awesome ride. There's something very relaxing about riding around in a quiet non-polluting vehicle.

Enjoy,
Ken

Kev.......The YouTube link does not seem to work.

Although I haven't actually clocked the speed, the dealer told me it will go 18 mph. The motor controller is electronic and I understand it can be programmed for a higher top speed but 18 mph is plenty fast for me.

them black bears get up to 30 I hear, that'll cause a rise in the pulse.
