Anything from Lyn Stanley. Same for Patricia Barber, my current player don't have an indicator but I know Modern Cool is HDCD.
I think we can agree anything on the Reference Label.
Ozone Percussion Group, an album called Labomba, not to be confused with Richie Valens. At first this was a show off disc playing Jazz Variants with huge drums that on the right system will be quite a treat, now I enjoy the entire album.
Paula Cole is HDCD, the first track, later into the song has a wave of low end bass that makes it a good test track.
Concord Jazz sampler 2 on SACD is a stand out for me, excellent tracks, artists and a good variety of top performers. There's a live Ray Brown that is outstanding, his bass is recorded well, he is soloing an intro, then a cellphone goes off, Ray don't miss a beat, you hear the audience laugh, the band kicks in about then. There's a lot of background detail, things I mentioned already, some spots of clapping along, a fan calls out Ray's name and the like. They aren't a distraction from the music, just good things to listen for, how the system is able to bring it out.
I have just an original LP of The Police, Synchronicity, I feel is very good. It's something I'll grab when I want to show my system to someone not into the above type music.
I'll quit for now, I want to let others post to get a feel for where this is going.
