My editor, Robert Harley, recently asked if I'd be interested in reviewing the Linn Klimax DAC/Streamer for TAS, so of course, I said, "Yes." Doh! :p

It arrived today, and it's a real beast. Feels like it weighs at least 30-35 lbs. Absolutely beautifully constructed and engineered, wowza, just cray-cray.

Just listening to it this evening as with Roon; have dig into the manual and downlowd the software. It's quite the device.

Stay tuned for first impressions as it settles over the next coupla three days.

I'm interested in your impressions. I was disappointed in soud quality offered by previous Klimax DS/1/2 players. They were just not competitive with the upper etchelon DACs. The build quality was impressive though.

She’s a beauty for sure. Let us know the pros and cons.

I spent this afternoon carefully measuring the shape and dimensions of my main room. With lasers.

I input the room shape, dimensions, and attributes (e.g. windows and doors) into the LINN Space Optimizer web page, and the Space Optimizer computer built a model for my specific room in a few minutes.

Compared to not using it, the LINN Space Optimizer function in the LINN Klimax DSM/3 DAC/Streamer frickin' kicks *ss.

Very, very impressive.

Nice... it sounds pretty cool. I saw some pictures where it looks like the front panel displays what's playing and settings, etc.

At almost $40,000 I believe it would be a tad out of my budget :)....
