Kronos Sparta Turntable

Wow I like that one the other I'm sure is the world class flagship but I'm not a huge table guy. I been researching these which have been around awhile.

I'm going with the Andre Theriault Tonearm and ZYX Universe II Cartridge.

Preview: ZYX UNIverse II MC Cartridge : HPSoundings

I know André, he's a very nice and intense (in a nice way) person. Haven't heard his arm though so I can't comment, had a few opportunity to hear it on Kronos but was not attuned to what it was paired with. André also built a table in the past which I was told played very nicely. Met Louis once at a local hifi store, he appears to be very nice too.

Personally not a great fan of the designed in but made in China gear. Price should be peanuts considering the labour costs.

Btw, you can still buy them under their old name Amari in HK/Chinahttp://www.china-highend-hifi.com/prod02121211723123.htm

Interesting arm. Carbon fiber is nothing new, but the ball in cup certainly is for the bearing.

I take it you have used the tonearm before on the table and ergonomics are good.

Leading edge Mike. I like it.:D

Thanks. I'm going by the table designers recommendation. He's tried a lot of combinations and this was his favorite by far.

I never even heard of those tables until yesterday. Lol!!
I'm searching for a good solid table to put a triplanar and etna on.
Which means the table would have to be under $10k. Have no idea which way to go.
But I kinda like the little hanss. Just has to spin and I read the suspension is pretty good.
Any other ideas? You seem to have some table knowledge :)

Nice thanks!!! I don't want to lose the ability to quick switch headshells with the Merrill /ort combo. Cause I'm getting a mono, spu and a grado mm. But I also need a better tonearm to run a nicer cartridge. I mean I could but it would t be fair to the cartridge. I could buy another Merrill with the triplanar on it but that would be silly to have two of the same table. Even though I love this table and will think about it, 1 is enough lol!!
Thanks again monacos are Nice!!! That's a great price !! I love his whole setup with the mc Anna!!!

Wow I just saw the Kronos for sale for $16k . Wonder if that's legit guy has some feedback.

Excellent stuff.

what tonearm are you pairing with it?

Can you fit more than one tonearm on the Kronos?

And btw, I am sure Lyra Atlas or Etna if you want just a touch of forgiveness would be natural partners.

I agree, A top Lyra cartridge would be my choice too !

Yep, saw that too. It's been listed for several months. Seems legit. Think he bought the desler's demo.

Looks like a carbon fiber armboard, this is one beautiful TT. I think I prefer it's looks over the Kronos, congrats on your purchase Mike....good choice on the tonearm.

Its legit. Go for it Steve!
Lmao!!! It's really cool and I'm sure world class, but it's not for me.and beyond what I can afford. I'm a single level, simple table guy for sure. Like a spiral groove if they weren't so damn expensive.
Btw the universe2 is an awesome choice, I heard the first universe and was floored by the detail it pulled off a record. I'd imagine the 2 was even better. Have you heard this table/arm/cartridge combo? I think it's gonna work well!!

You consider the Lyras forgiving Shane? I can think of many adjectives to describe their sound but forgiving ain't one of them.
