KL Audio told me today that the RCM is going up in price on March 31 from $3999 to $4799.

Their email mentioned it was to do with the strong USD vs the Euro.

So now is the time to order one if you've been on the fence.

I heard this rumor a few weeks ago. I suppose that prices for all RCMs are going up! Glad I bought all mine when I did!

I'm confused - with the USD being stronger now relative to the Euro, why would the US price be going up? Shouldn't it be coming down??? I guess I'm no economist, please clarify.

I believe the KL is manufactured off-shore. While the intellectual property is developer here. I believe the parts and manufacturing is done elsewhere....and then shipped to the USA.

Sounds like total bollocks to me.

USA company and the cleaner is made in South Korea. Last time I looked, that is a long way from Europe.

At least make up a story that makes some sense.

"We realize that currency exchange rates have kept our cleaner's price significantly higher in Europe and elsewhere compared to the United States. This adjustment will help bring retailing prices closer."

It has nothing to do with where it's made.

AUD$12K SRRP for a Lumin U1 silver or black. Guess where that is made! I can throw rocks that far!

Everything is is going up. I also cannot appreciate the justification with the substantial compounded increases of HiFi over the past few years.

What does that statement mean? Of course if the US is higher than the Euro the price will be higher in Europe. The price is even higher in Australia due to the crap exchange rate.

What does exchange rate have to do with KL raising the price in the USA? Just sounds like more profit in the US from KL audio.

Don't shoot the messenger. One could make many arguments, but the price isn't going to be $3999 for much longer. So if any one wants one, now is the time....

Not everything is going up.....Lyra annouced yesterday that they dropped pricing on trade -ins and re-builds for all cartridges.

With this news, I may list all, except my ClearAudio, RCMs for sale.
