Just now purchased the ClearAudio Double Matrix Sonic

David.......To boldly go where no record cleaning machine has gone before. .

That looks like dinner!

Paul, I talked to a guy that all he does is perform tests. And I talked to him at length about my wanting to understand the RCM cleaning processes and identifying their strengths and weaknesses. And I stipulate that I want to identify those things for me. Ugh...I'm being so careful to make certain that this is about my curiosity for me.

Anyway, he conveyed that I need to create a baseline. And his suggestions was just crazy...but it made sense to me. I needed to start with something over-the-top and then... from there work my way down to the more common scenarios but I needed to have some baseline to start with.

So, I created a baseline. Since then, I have been testing other scenarios and that documentation is forthcoming after I finally complete this crazy documentation about the ovee-the-top baseline.

Does that make sense...I hope?

After I post all this stuff and what I am experiencing, I am virtually pleading to the experts to help me make sense of it all. I have to say, the physical testing has been a hoot of fun. The painful part is writing it up!

And Paul...thanks again for being a perfect gentleman!

David

DOE (design of experiments) is a science and an art all it's own. I agree starting with a baseline for all contestants regardless of how you decide to define it is a key first step.

BTW, I am currently shopping for a TT but something to clean the frisbees is on my list for sure. So I will be watchin. So far I think the KL is purdiest and I have heard good things but I will stay tuned.

I am looking forward to the ClearAudio RCM Sonic. This machine may be very interesting.

Just had this Clearaudio up and running the other day. It replaced an Audio Desk cleaner which often had technical issues.

I'm very impressed so far with its ease of operation and quality of cleaning. I eagerly await with excitement David's comparison of his cleaners.

Carlo, the unit looks just beautiful. The professional photos obviously are designed to make the unit look fantastic. Your photo is real and still, the unit does look just beautiful.

I can't wait to receive mine.

Can you chime in already your experiences with this RCM? There is not need to wait for me and my experience. I think everyone will have lots of experiences to share about their RCMs...and that's what makes this all so interesting...everyone's perspectives.

Just received an email about the ClearAudio:

"David
It's on the way...we should be able to ship on Tuesday."

This is great news!

So you put the record on the round flat salami over that wood stick and those big wieners hover over and do the cleaning????

Paul.......No. You place the sausage and salami on the grill, then hold the LP over the grill to capture smoke and grease particulate. This adds another complex layer of debris for testing purposes.

Add toasted buns and mustard for a tasty lunch. :P

Well number one would be its ease of use and operation. There are 3 different modes in cleaning and I find that even at econo mode, the records come out very clean. Minor ticks and pops are minimized significantly.

As far as sound quality of lps after cleaning, I just couldn't compare it side by side with the audio desk since I've returned the unit already for a refund.

I have to say , effective or not, thats one sweet looking machine .....

I'm more interested in the solvents that will be used and how they compare to one another. Most of these machines are financially out of my reach.

It is the fluids that do the heavy lifting. The machines help with everything else though. The Clearaudio double matrix is the most incredible RCM I've ever seen in my opinion. It's extreme flexibility is very attractive. Not to mention the looks are very attractive. I'd love one of these, but it is so far out of my reach I have to use a powerful telescope to see it. Heck, with my eyesight I need help to see anything anyway:lol:
