I'm about to pull my hair out. I have the iPad air with the Jremote app set up on it. It normally sees my laptop that has JRiver 19. I have now lost connection from my iPad to my laptop and I have no idea what is wrong. The laptop and my iPad are both connected to my wireless network. I have gone into the settings on the Jremote app and retyped the key from the JRiver 19 and it says it can't connect. I have no idea what has changed from when it was working perfectly to now which makes it all the more exasperating.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so, how did you fix the issue?

It's been a while since I used JRiver and JRemote, but have you rebooted everything (PC and iPad)? It COULD be that they are both sharing the same internal IP. Reboot both, one at a time. PC first.

Mep, give me a call and I will try to help you troubleshoot. I have a great deal of experience with both programs.

Guys-Thanks for the help. Don't ask me how, but I got it working last night. I saw that I had a JRiver notice on my laptop saying there was an update to install so I installed it. JRiver rebooted after the installation of the updates. I went back to the iPad and it still wouldn't sync up. I went into settings and it still wasn't seeing the connection. All of a sudden, my PC name pops up on the iPad in the JRemote app and it fills in the IP address and host name and then it synched up with the laptop. I still don't understand how or why this happened or what to do if this happens again.

Makes sense actually. Remote applications will stall, until that prompt is resolved.

You could turn off updates, and just control them yourself.
