He we go again.
Joni Mitchell was found unconscious in her home yesterday and taken to hospital. Don't know how long she was out before she was found. Doctors say she is in good spirits.
I'm thinking stroke.

Everytime I get a report of this nature about true artists I always think about how it seems all we have these days is rap and fake popsters stealing from each other so they all sound the same. I know a small part of that is not necessarily true, but some of it I feel is. Of course the greats are not going to be around forever and most have stopped doing music such as Joni Mitchell. As always those that have passed live on in their music to which I hold great gratitude.

Yeah really sad to hear her health take a turn. She is a great songwriter, and was a great singer, though it appears as though a lifetime of heavy smoking is catching up with her health & has sadly robbed her of her once beautiful voice. I hope and pray she is back to good health again soon :|.

Yes, I was surprised she was such a heavy smoker. I'm sure that is part of it. She doesn't do anything with music anymore for obvious reasons. I think she still paints though?
One of the greatest songwriters ever. (Did you know she wrote "Woodstock" for Crosby Stills and Nash).
I have a clip of her performing on The Mama Cass show and it's haunting. Mama Cass had this look on her face of awe and wonder and we know how good she was.

Joni Mitchell was my favorite in my younger years. Her imagery was amazing. Nobody could paint a picture with so few words.

My all-time favorite is "Urge for Going". I think I read somewhere that she did not like the song. Maybe that is why it was not released on an album (Hits) until many years after she wrote it. Tom Rush released it first.

Judy Collins also covered Joni's songs early on. In fact, that is how I was introduced to Joni Mitchell. I saw she wrote two songs on Wildflowers. I had to find out who she was.

It is sad she was never able to kick nicotine. I hope she is better very soon.

No need to seek out a rare clip; she recorded it on Ladies Of The Canyon :doubtful:

Joni is an absolute fav; let's just hope, it has something to do with that kooky "disease" of hers...as opposed to anything serious.
