My place is a loft type setup
All open but the sound is very different from a given vantage point
i sit at 8 to 9 feet
But my office area is some 25 feet back. it’s all perspective Based on where we sit and the room.
I said his Wilson’s might be the better speaker but not in any room nor chair
mine play Forward. No toe this makes for a non point source sound
Wilson’s need tow in I feel so distance matters more

Your level of honesty comes at a price so be careful
setup of complex speakers is on you and if you choose to be the one
so this alone lends you plenty of blow back

Ah, speaker is revealed. I didn't know that Brand was on Jay's radar.

That helps explain why the sound seemed too bright on top to be the JA speakers.

Definitely in line with every Focal speaker I've ever auditioned or heard. (Though the larger Focal speakers are not as obviously bright as the smaller stand mounted speakers, being more balanced with the bass, they still have the "look at me" Focal tweeter sound IMO).

Still, I'm sure they sound significantly different than the Wilsons - a change for change sake move it seems, but that in itself can bring plenty of musical fun. Lucky Jay!
 
Jay has explained the dimensions of his listening room several times. He sits about 9' from the speaker--at least with the XLFs. He has an average size room, about 15 x 20 or something. But I understand what you are saying--getting precise measurements may be helpful to the audience in determining how his gear may "fit" into our spaces and help troubleshoot potential issues.

Jay also sits in high back chairs, he listens with cup ears , you should take that into consideration with any bright or shouty comments ..!
