Jay's Audio Journey

I initially felt that this youtube channel was like watching "If Donald Trump was an Audiophile". After watching him interact with Mikey, I was impressed by Jay's deference and thoughtfulness to OCD Mikey (whom I am not yet convinced warrants Jay's deference and thoughtfulness). Jay won me over with this...

I'm still not sure, at times, if I am watching this channel with the same fascination of rubbernecking at an accident, or due to its brilliance.
Nevertheless, It's Jay's Bloody Pulpit, and he has the right to any opinion he wishes.

He is entitled to an opinion, but he presents them as facts, which they are certainly not. When called on that, he throws a fit and then resorts to threats (been online for 20 years, that's a first). A typical bully, he does not fool me anymore.

Why are you still here reading if you criticize me so much? Tune out. Change the channel. It's people like Rick who make me stronger and feed me the carbs to want to muscle 💪 the hell out the trolls or haters. I only need one supporter behind me and that gives me enough fuel to knock out ten trolls at a time.
I'm not the dude with the long white hair who looks like Albert Einstein and that wears a badge on their pocket that says "I'm am audiophile".
I'm the new NOW, what's coming and the changing of the guards. It's time for a change in this industry and RIGHT NOW, whether you hate me or not, it is coming in the form of a big bald dude. I'm carrying the new generations of audiophiles because unfortunately the old is begining to die off since human nature is what dictates that.
New ideas, younger CEOs, new enginners, fresh minds, younger personalities. It's what the world is doing across all industries and I think this industry NEEDS IT DESPERATELY.
Of course, you weren't at Capital Audio Fest 2021 but you'd be shocked at the massive amounts of people who stopped me to thank me for what I'm doing. They all echoed the same thing: "Jay we love you because you don't look like an audiophile and you are doing what NOBODY ELSE IS DOING -thank you".
That's all I need to keep this train rolling forward.
End of story.

in what direction are you going to steer the industry?

I vaguely recall when upgrading from S to Q, after having two local repairs done on S, that Q would need to go back to the factory.

"in what direction are you going to steer the industry?"

New face, new topics that at times will ruffle feathers but that must be talked about as long as I'm not being dishonest about my findings.
I don't get behind my camera to put out false information. I believe in calling my trusted sources in order to validate what I'm being told before I share it with you all.
Wouldn't you want transparency? Wouldn't you want for things to be out in the open that before were hidden under the mattress?
Why can one (if not) the greatest bodybuilder of all time (Arnold) admit to steroid usage just a few years ago and share this with the younger generations in order to let them know you that can't build a body like his by only drinking protein shakes? I think it is AWESOME to be transparent and not have to lie to people.
Deception needs to stop. The food industry is getting hammered constantly by the FDA for false claims within their labels. Supplement companies are constantly being stepped on for swearing their products are the cleanest and purest only to later find out they are filled with fillers...
Folks, the audio industry is the only one I know of where if you speak, you build enemies. If you all don't want change, then fine - don't support the cause and keep getting "stepped on" (just don't act stupid later on and say "oh I didn't know this product had this issue or that issue, etc etc")

I read it. It's all good. Those who want to keep following me will continue to do so no matter what.
When there is nobody doing the shootouts and sharing what I share by owning the ultra high end, there aren't many other choices because the other choices are essentially about the "average" products that everyone constantly reviews and regurgitates.
My channel is almost a "niche" and won't appeal to the masses because the masses don't own mágico M6 and Wilson Xlf in a period of under 12 months let alone the msb reference with DCs Rossini, wilson daw with focal scala evo.
You wanna know WHY ? BECAUSE IT IS A HELL OF ALOT OF WORK! .
If I had started my channel reviewing boom boxes, I would have over 50k subscribers by now. The ultra high end are typically owners who don't want to do all the work i do. To them, it's tedious and bothersome to have to record, edit, upload and for what?
That is the main reason why I am sailing in waters all alone .

Trying to figure out how to post something that says the subject matter is good, let's not get personal, let's not get physical, without adding fuel to flames on anyone's side. Decided that my post didn't accomplish that...

I have spent millions on gear in the last 20+ years. This is an incredibly true statement. We all know that this hobby is incredibly subjective, but at the end of the day an incredibly well functioning, operating and sounding system is evident to all once experienced. Many fall short in one way or another... those operational issues or faults should be shared... I shouldn't have to spend my own money and get it home just to find out that these issues exist. This has happened to me quite a few times. If you speak out negatively and publicly, all hell breaks loose within your contacts and relationships.

I like Jay's channel. I learn a lot, and believe in his experience and ear. Pretty sure that the phrase Caveat Emptor was not invented yesterday, though. We all have to weigh subjective reports with conflict of interest in many different areas of life.
I enjoy Jay's channel as educational, not as a battle. I would suggest trying to accumulate subscribers, not followers.
I have enough battles at work. I've been spending the majority of my time in ICU's keeping COVID patients alive, or trying to convince family members to allow those that have no chance to slip away. I enjoy listening to the channel on my commute. We all have to decide what is truly a battle.
I feel that staying above the fray here, and focusing on content, will allow Jay to rise to immortality.
I think that's enough for me here, and I am going to stop frequenting this thread. I'll just check the channel and listen for updates.
