There is an issue with the new build from Roon, build 165 that was recently released. A few users including me have reported that DSD over DoP drivers will no longer play at DSD level. This is how the drivers from Benchmark as well as many others, work. The only way to play DSD albums is to convert to PCM, 176.4.

I have verified that these albums play just fine at DSD levels with JRiver. The issue happened as soon as Roon updated to the new build.

Hopefully Roon will address this issue ASAP!

Then you aren't really hearing DSD are you?

So far, no updates. Their customer support has sent me, and a few others with issues, files to role us back to build 161. Build 161 works just fine. I know they are also working on release of a full version update, 1.3.... but no other word on the issues with build 165 as of yet.

Roon posted in our thread that they have a fix and are doing QA to assure that all is good before releasing it.

"Hey guys,We have implemented a fix and will be sending it to QA soon. Hoping to release it as soon as it's fully tested.
Again, sorry for the trouble here"

Yea, seems to work good! Actually I have noticed one other very small problem seems resolved also. I had noticed in the past that switching between PCM and DSD albums would not always be very smooth. It would switch but require me to press the play button a second time. Now it seems like it switches between very smoothly without any issues at all!

I've had the issue switching between formats also. I was thinking it was a firmware issue in dac. Can't tell u how many times my system has locked up.....

Not sure if it's solved yet but if it was a roon issue its totally unacceptable on their part. It never occurred to me it would be a roon issue.

I would not characterize this as a "small" issue. More like a fundamental flaw that should never happen.

I have never had an issue pressing play a second time, therefore to me it was a small issue, but it is better so far now for me. Again, Roon is very much in the heavy development stage and doing great things so I will give them some slack. By the way I have never had any of my DACs lock up with Roon (several different ones).
