Isolation ideas

I'm planning to build another rack for my equipment. My last build was only a test, and I don't really like the style of it. And it's way too big for now. I'm going with a stacked shelf type of design with spikes between each shelf. It will be a bottom shelf for 2 amps with enough head room for some sort of isolation
A middle shelf for the pre and top for the table.
The top shelf I want to add some form of DIY isolation top. I want to use wood and the rack itself should weigh in around 150lbs without any equip on it. I'm also going to build 2 matching 2 shelf units to put on the sides of this rack once I add more equip. But that's another story.
Any ideas or opinions for a good isolation platter for a turntable??
I was thinking upside down spikes on the corners of the legs and countersink some metal to the bottom of the platform to put on top of the spikes. I just don't know what the best way to go here. Maybe some sort rubber?
Any ideas or opinions greatly appreciated.
 
My belief is that with isolation you want the component to be able to release its energy into something. So I think the spike/countersunk metal would work as long as the spikes have a way to funnel the TT energy out to the shelf below.
 
Here's what I made about 5 years ago. Each "shelf" is actually a sand box with a maple cutting board floating on the sand. The boxes are MDF with 50lbs of sand in each. The uprights are a maple table top that I cut down to size and bolted through to the sand boxes. Sitting in adjustable spikes.

Steve,

The Herzan TS-140 'active' isolation platform (to put under your TT, or CD player, or ...) is only $12,000.
And from what I've read from couple owners, it's the rage in getting closer to the musicians! :)

The more you read about it, the more you get into the 'essence' of our audio hobby.

I'm going with the same type of thing but with small spikes instead of rubber for the rack
But now I bought new amps they don't fit on the rack I built so its delayed until I build a couple amp stands. Which I'm using nearly the same exact setup you have.
I have a bunch of those Iso rubber blocks around I will use those. And just make a thick platform or buy some nice wood for em.
