I heard that vendors who show at Axpona, and I'm assuming this would be every show to be fair, now have to list the music they plan to play during the show and will have to pay a royalty due to copyright.

How could this even be policed? If true, is it the honor system? If true is a huge burden and road block to vendors in my opinion.

I know a couple guys who DJ parties and such I haven't heard anything about them having to pay royalties. Wouldn't that be a similar situation.

I hope it's not true.
 
From what little I found seems there should be a blanket license for audio shows. The complaint came from someone who has exhibited before who told a friend.
