Is it time for a major overhaul of the Lumin App?

By artwork files I mean jpg's. For some albums I ripped years ago I have jpg's of liner notes and covers instead of pdf's. One of these days I'll get around to converting my older artwork to pdf's. Maybe ;) I can view them easily via Roon or JRiver anyway.

I understand what you originally asked. The App does display pictures (jpg) assuming your files are tagged correctly (which as I noted doesn't automatically populate during ripping a disc). You can display those (jpg) liner notes if you re-tag any of the songs on the album with the jpg using a program like MP3 tag.

Same here. I love the simplicity and reliability, not to mention the terrific support from Peter. I'm not a big playlist user like others here so the 2000 song limit isn't a big deal. Only thing on my wish list with Lumin App is the ability to open booklet pdf's and artwork jpg's. I do love the rich experience of Roon which I use mostly for music discovery and casual listening but I use the Lumin App for more focused listening. Music just sounds a tad more real to me with greater inner detail than via Roon.

I too would love the ability to open booklet pdfs and artwork jpg's. I made this request months ago, but still nothing has been announded.

In site of my last post where I said I would shut up, a new question has arisen. I counted my playlists in Roon and was amazed to find they numbered in excess of 90! Are there other Lumin users with that many and how do you manage them?

Not having read the entire thread but just sharing my 2ct.

I came from sonos connect with many features like shuffling 10k songs from multiple folders, even when not labeled and just wavs.

I missed these features in the beginning, but lumin with the current app has really got me back to my roots and I really really love the listening by album and nothing else. I like the app since then a lot!

Not sure if this helps with relativating all above feature requests, but well, one voice extra does not hurt, right?

Peter, when do you think you will also offer this for IOS and for local pdf booklets?

Lumin app 7.0.9 on iOS now supports Qobuz PDF booklet. Tap and hold a Qobuz album art to see the option on album that has it.

(This functionality is also present in the current Lumin Android app).

Forget the overhaul, how about this fundamental feature of any network app?
Ability to quickly and consistently locate its hardware device.
About 50% of times when the app is started or resumed, it is missing Lumin (in my case U1 Mini).
Usually I just either stop/start or forget about it for a while, and there it is.
Fortunately I have an alternate streamer, Raspberry Pi with Allo Digione.

It really is a shame for a $2k device; I'm seriously considering parting with it, so frustrating is it.

Discovery difficulty is typically caused by WiFi network dropping multicast.

Discovery has never been an issue with other streamers on my LAN,
which could not be simpler. Rarely if ever multiple simultaneous media streaming takes place.
It is hard to imagine there are messages (TCP or UDP) being dropped.

For such LAN setup, Lumin app should allow an option to specify a static IP addr for U1 along
with the normal discovery protocol. Whenever automatic method doesn't work reliably, a manual override should be possible.
