Is 60 watts of Luxman class A enough juice for SabrinaX?

His room wouldn’t tolerate a bigger speaker. It’s a tiny room. MAYBE 10 x 10. He does have a separate AC unit in that room for his love of Class A and tube amps. He did have Salon 2’s in that room and they sounded superb, but they aren’t bass giants.

funny:)
are you talking about @slab?
he mentioned to be in a 20 x 18 room.

Hmm. A $40k amp to drive an $18k pair of speakers.

If you're going to criticize my system, at least know what you are talking about. The amps are $29k now and were $27k retail when I bought them, which I didn't pay. I was trying to be helpful and make a point and I suggested the 350.8 which is $14k.

Hey Bruce. I didnt mean to criticize your system, I was merely stating my opinion on how I would spend my money on my system priorities.

For me, speakers are the most important part of the entire system as they determine the final quality of your sound.

Based on what Mike said about the size of your room, you have additional challenges on what speakers your room will support.

I wish you the best with your choices.

This month from my friends at Wilson...

Sabrina V, as with The WATT/Puppy utilizes the same Wilson Audio QuadraMag Midrange as is in XVX, Alexx V, Alexia V, and Sasha V, the same Wilson Audio Convergent Synergy Carbon tweeter found in Alexx V, Alexia V, and Sasha V, and the same 8" woofer found in Alexia V(upper) and Sasha V (Yvette used a 10"). The capacitors are the most advanced WilsonAudio Cap-X Coppers we have designed/manufactured to date. Sabrina V debuts H material as its baffle, the most correctly damped, monotonic material we have yet developed. It will replace S material going forward. Much has happened in the 9 years since Yvette's debut.

Bottom line: In all but the lowest bass and in the ability to scale, Sabrina V should be a substantial step up from Yvette. It's easier to drive, more open, more resolving. That said The WATT/Puppy is suitable in the same systems and rooms that Sabrina V is. So if you wanted to maintain the scale of the Yvette while adding the precision adjustable time alignment, the WATT/Puppy would be the choice.

Hope this helps
