iPad 2017 $329

The price is Spain for the 128Gb model is 499 €. I ordered one, since my old Ipad 2 could not run Roon as a checkpoint and was almost useless to read the newspaper, however the Lumin app was running acceptably well.
By the way, I'm doing listening tests with Roon and now I understand why you have included the possibility of putting off "Roon Ready"
 
They have the same display size, resolution and ppi.

I haven't used all these variants, but my understanding of the display quality is this:
iPad Pro > iPad Air 2 > iPad 2017 ~ iPad 3

iPad Air 2 has anti-reflective coating and is reported to have better contrast. So for those who care deeply about the display quality instead of CPU power, some people prefer refurbished iPad Air 2 to iPad 2017.

With the coming update of iOS 11 that drops support for 32bit devices, iPad Fourth Generation, iPhone 5 and 5C will become unsupported by Apple (along with even older devices).

What's unclear to me is whether we will still be able to publish updates for 32-bit version (in addition to 64-bit version) of Lumin app to App store, for people with unsupported devices.

I sure hope this Apple iOS11 load doesn't break a lot of apps I'm using on my Ipad Gen4 (64 bit MD512LL/A)

I'm afraid your iPad Gen4 won't be able to upgrade to iOS 11 at all.
 
I am looking very much forward to my upgrade at this moment i have an Ipad mini first generation, and has just ordered the Ipad Pro 10.5 , 256GB
i guess for me it will feel like a huge upgrade :) at least i hope so.

I have an Ipad Air 2, Model A1566 from late 2014. Currently using it for controlling Roon. Do you know the compatibility with ioS11? Thanks. Larry
 
Yes, Air 2 will upgrade to iOS 11. However, I'd rather not perform major iOS upgrade in the first days when one is released.
